Hello everyone, I am a new member. I own a Gaggia Classic circa 1996. When I make a coffee (double or single) copious amount of water flow from the steamer wand. Should I change the steam valve or the whole assembly? Could it be just a washer problems? I only use distilled water with no issue regarding clogging. Thank you for your suggestions. Petrus60.
Steam valves leak, usually from scale. You the only owner and always distilled, or just distilled since you owned it? Either way, there is no entry point made to the valve, unless your older model is different. Once you get in it is a needle valve and can be polished a bit and may fix it.
Fix is below if you want to try. I have not done it yet. Post your results please.
