Subject: Gaggia Classic Filter Basket volume
 

For the first time ever, I decided to measure 15g whole beans out for a double shot. I immediately noticed that this did not fill the basket all the way to the top. The shot still pulled in 25 seconds and tasted better than the way I have been doing this. Previously I would fill the basket to the very top, level off with a knife and tamp

Which is the preferred method for the gaggia classic?

I am using a Macap grinder at ~2 1/4 from the zero point
