As an owner, I certainly don't think people need to own one to post. But if the sole reason to post is to trash-talk the machine, I don't see much of a point in that. It's pretty much a given that someone who bought something else does not want to buy one. What else is there productive to say?

Don't own one, would still like to BUT do work on a few wink wink
I'm going to buck the trend and ask an actual question about this machine.
I've been happy with my shots, occasionally getting exceptional ones. I'd like to do some experimentation with temp, preinfusion and/or pressure. I've heard that temp has the biggest impact. Should I try 2 degrees, or is 1 degree enough to detect a change in the taste?
Folks, Let's try not to let this thread get any more off track than it already has. There have been some borderline posts and some that may merit moderator action.
If it continues to be an issue then we will simply lock it (as we have some other BDB threads).
Some I have hinted at and others I have identified from the outset but was quickly dumped on by those that can not see the difference between reporting known issues and bad mouthing....
In general; 90% of the hardware and software issues have been identified and corrected in the latest mandatory upgrades that are being applied when a machine come in for service / repair to a local agent. However this may be in Australia ONLY ?
However not all service agents are authorised nor have the skills for working on these. Many agents are best left to repairing a kettle.
While I have seen many interesting things, for many reasons I can only comment on some. Mind you I have been involved in modifying a few :-)

It's been my experience that CG readers like posts that are very specific and detailed over those that are more abstract and general. If you know things you can't say, it's probably best not to hint as that comes across as too tricky.

So what was tricky about saying that the OPV was not set correctly...
A known problem, reported here once confirmed; along with a few others and all debunked by yourself.... Opps what happen later...
IMPORTANT FACT:
You forget that while you the US, have had the BES900 for a while .
Australia has had the BES900 in the market place for longer and hence we see trending issues before you. Thus your behind the 8 ball re seeing trends, so take a cement pill and harden up LOL.
AlexKilpatrick PM me if you want more info... re leaks and vibrating gauges.
