In defense of the 830. My 830 is going on 2 years now making 3 to 4 double shots a day, 7 days a week and it has been absolutely trouble free. My machine before the 830 was a Gaggia Carezza which in less then a year I had to send in for repair once and then the pump went out and I got rid of it , plus I could never get a consistent shot with it. Maybe I just got lucky with my 830 and a friend bought a factory refurbished 830 3 months ago on my recommendation and he has no problems whatsoever. Just my 2 cents worth.
