So I was about to pull the trigger and buy the Crossland CC1/Vario grinder combo from SCG, but the lack of ability to purchase brew head gaskets has me concerned. It will be covered by warranty for two years but after that will I still be able to purchase the gasket separately to replace myself? Anyone currently using have similar concerns?

Also isnt it made in Taiwan? Not that this is inherently a bad thing, but it does create questions when a large amount of
goods manufactured there and in China often dont have a great reputation.

I emailed SCG  Oct 20, 2012 and asked about the gasket.. here is what they said:

"Thanks for writing in! Unfortunately we do not offer them at this time. We are working on getting these to stock though, and we are hoping to have them soon. If you are interested, I can email you when we have them available."

So far no word.

Bill addressed parts a bit in another thread. Not sure how this equated to being able to order them because I assume he is not interested in competing with his dealers for parts sales. Maybe he can add more....

"Diffuser block on CC1.5 and finding parts."

That's not good... it would cost more to pay the shipping to send it back than what a gasket should cost... and you would probably be without the machine for weeks. I would rather just buy the gasket.

Parts availability for these machines is a valid issue for new buyers and worth following up on indeed.

For me it is a huge concern. Enough so that I will probably will not be buying a CC1, also no response from Bill Crossland yet.

I have not done any research on other brands as far as obtaining repair parts. What brands have you found that your able to readily find repair parts for?
