I picked up some new burrs for it, but haven't installed them because the doser is filthy and the thing needs new bearings. It's the latter job that scares me because I don't have a press >.<

So i'm having an issue with my oscar, and I came across this thread.... It doesn't solve my issue but this particular post brings up a question. It looks like you pulled a 2 oz shot in 17-18 seconds... I've seen that the goal is closer to 30 seconds. Have I been doing it wrong all this time? Or are there benefits to pulling shots in a shorter time-frame to get "longer cones" with naked portafilters??

I just pulled the largest naked filter cone that I have ever done. It looked like the cones I have seen on lever espresso porn shots. I don't know if it was a fluke but it was really pretty and the coffee tastes great.
This pull I recorded was not as good as the one before it but you can see the short water dance and the large (for me) cone I got. Disregard the sprites at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71JoPxbBtLA

That shot was short but go by taste and when the cone collapses. That matters more than the time on the clock.
Some may disagree but I would rather stop a pull at blonding and drink that shot then run the full suggested time and sink shot it. And that shot was drinkable.
