I'm just start recently by buying a used Silvia V1 last month. It was in very good condition as it was rarely used but I probably spent too much. Add your original price + $150 (OPV + Steam wand + other maintenace items) and if it's remotely close to a used V3, I would lean to buying the V3. Obviously, the OPV and steam wand are optional upgrades but I'm fighting myself to not get the steam wand already
If you get a reasonable deal for the machine and there's no problems, just go for it! Enjoy it for a while and re-sell it for a similar price when you want to buy another machine. I'm having a ton of fun with the Silvia V1.
