Hi Ceridan,
A bottomless portafilter is a very humbling thing. I have had mine for several years and I sure can't say that I never get a squirty.
Some of what I learned:
1.Grind and tamp should be adjusted for about 25 second shot time.
You want your grounds clump and static free. I stir my grounds in the basket with a metal canning funnel in the basket with a wire whisk.
Tamp after the basket is in the handle and avoid any shock or jarring of the grounds after the tamp.
I also put the handle and basket on a dental vibrator while tamping.
The picture below is my basket, whisk, canning funnel, and vibrator. The funnel is modified to fit into my Rocky grinder such that I grind right into the funnel and basket. "I civilized my Rocky"

Thank you all for the replies.
Basically I should: - Grind finer. - Tamp more thoroughly (I admit I have to practice there and get a better tamper). - Aim for a double shot for the time being.
And as an added benefit get this cool glass :) http://www.espressoparts.com/EPMEAS (Good luck finding them in Czechia, probably I'll just create one using and ordinary small glass :) )
I refer to this diagram frequently to find answers. You may want it in favorites. I also looked in my machine. As you face the machine the hose most rightward, most toward the outside of the machine is the OPV return hose, #35. The most central is the water pickup, #48. I pulled out the tank and put a fairly large glass/pitcher under the intake hose. I used a regular glass to make it easy on the output/OPV side. Turn on the pump with a blind basket in the PF and start timing the OPV discharge from first discharge in the glass, a few seconds after pump on. Time for 15, or 30 seconds and convert to flow.
You will no doubt run a couple of times to check and perhaps adjust OPV. Allow the pump to rest for about 2 minutes between runs. They are designed for intermittent duty cycle and rest.
