Land of what? highly rated by who? ok, well, go for it...I guess. Just because it isn't on "the list", doesn't mean it won't be fantastic, but me, well...I'd rather stick with what people who know a lot more about this than me recommend than the general public...especially if I was just starting out.
Maybe you haven't noticed...but several of us have told you that almost all of the roasters on that list will get you fresh coffee within a few days from roasting, so long as you choose priority mail as the shipper. There's no reason to focus on "close". But hey, whatever floats your boat...I guess.
Oh, and I looked at the Land of... website and saw their general recommendation to not freeze beans. This can be ignored, if and only if, you freeze them properly. And, I wouldn't trust any bean to be good for espresso a month out from roast date, if just sitting in a container in a dark cabinet (though they recommend that). Again, they may just be trying to warn the general public and would actually acknowledge that their recommendations are not for your average fanatic.

Costco and Whole Foods use a roaster that uses a air fluid bed roasting, I just dont like the end results. I do prefer a drum roaster, but then I do my own beans in a hottop roaster. You got a good setup to learn, I have Gaggia Espresso unit and have brought it out of mothballs and loving it. Getting beans fresh is best, but also need to have been rested for good espresso. Buy in small bags, dont buy amounts you can't use up in a week. Have fun, but expect to move to something better in the future, I find it hard now to keep fron getting another unit.
