Wasn't the R58 recently pulled from some shelves for Quality Control issues?

Yes, Let's not also forget the Baratza grinder issues.

Some people apparently had some problems . . . I don't know what they are.  It was said they affected the early models, but I have an early model, and I never had any problems, so I really can't tell you . . .

Yes, and I would have a different opinion if they were willing to stand behind the machine.

Hi BubbeDude, sorry to hear about your issues! I have no idea why you are getting the run around with the warranty. Breville stands behind every product it brings to market & given the significant level of investment, this product is certainly no different. The issues you describe are simple to solve. The leak is a bunching of a silicon tube caused by a clamp holding it onto a tube. The over-temp is probably the fault of a NTC slightly out of spec. If you PM me with your details, phone & email, I'll get someone from our LA office to call you & organise you a replacement. We'll pick up the freight cost to you & return.

Cheers, Phil

Now that is more like it - good luck with your BDB BD!

I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?

Maybe I should start a new Thread for issues on Espresso machines or something.
So maybe this is normal and would like to know how other dual boiler work.
I noticed when I run the Hot water handle and take out like a cup of water, the boiler refills right away, is this normal? Also it happend onece that after that happens and I try to make an espresso the pump will not turn on. I had to shit the machine off and on again.

My guess is the boiler should refill right away.  The pump not turning on sounds like a problem to me... Email Andrew... LOL!! ;-)
