I have a fairly new Lelit P041 and two quick questions about its use.
1/ Recently on 2 or 3 occasions, immediately after steaming milk (small quantities, steam on for < 2 minutes) and turning off the steam knob I'm hearing this fairly loud (relative to the rest of the machines sounds) pop/whoosh sound. Is this normal? 2/ When I first got the machine I was 95% certain that I could run water through the wand without turning on the pump just by opening up the dial (yes, I know there is a question of why would I want to do this), now it seems that I can't do this. Although I do remember one occasion recently where it did work. Should I be able to get water through the wand without the pump being on? Or will those only happen under certain circumstances? If so, under what circumstances?
Tim Welcome to the board, The easy one first. Yes you can get hot water from the wand but the pump must run to move the water, this is normal.
The other question is tougher as the exact sound is hard to guess what you are trying to say.you should be filling the boiler after steaming because the process of steaming uses up the water and lowers the level, is the heater turning on after steaming?

2/ I'll try to record it in the future. EDIT: it sounds to me like a large amount of pressure being released. I refill the boiler after steaming (flick it over to water, pump on, open dial until a steady stream of water), but this sounds happens before that. It happens as soon as I close up the dial. I've never steamed quantities of milk larger than 2 small lattes without refilling the boiler in between.

No sound this morning, but I found something last night that sounds very much like it. It sounds like quickly opening up a bottle of soft-drink that is under a bit too much pressure.
