I have an almost unused Solis Crema SL70 (about 10 years old) which when turned on pumped water from the steam wand. The steam knob appears to have no influence on this. On removing the cover I see the steam knob rides on a brass shaft (presumably a needle valve - with a left hand thread??) that carries a plastic cam that was clearly intended to operate a microswitch, but the cam had been displaced so the switch did not operate. The cam has an additional function of limiting the rotation of the shaft to something less than one full turn (possibly inconsistent with my needle valve presumption).
I can loosen the set screw that locates the cam and set it so that the microswitch works, but I note that the shaft appears to have a range of several turns. Clearly the plastic cam serves to limit this in some way.
Can somebody please advise how the shaft should be set to correctly locate the cam?
