Posted Thu Jan 10, 2013, 10:37pm Subject: Breville needs a new thermoblock?
My Breville 800ESXL (Die cast) has lost a lot of steam. It's happened before, and descaling it with vinegar did the trick, and did well (for a Breville) for about four years. But this time descaling hasn't improved anything. It used to take about a minute and a half to steam up milk for a latte, and now it's taking over two and a half minutes; steaming enough for two lattes is painfully slow. Can anyone tell me if the thermoblock may be the problem, and if this is something that is user replaceable. I'm somewhat handy with swapping out parts. Also, can these thermoblocks be purchased?
