Fair question...I have been using my Gaggia Classic everyday for five years and its just been fine. But frankly thats not the question here. Its from a person wanting to know why he should pick one of these three. When you examine the facts you see E61 the industry standard. You have to ask yourself why? Why would all these great manufactures choose it ? Secondly you have to ask yourself about Chinese build quality? I mean long haul...10,15,20 years later are these Breviles going to be around? Does anyone seriously believe the build quality in the Chinese machine is equal to the Italians?

Just noticed Chris Coffee posted the R58 is Out of Stock next shipment arriving early March! They stopped selling the machine for a while but i guess they have worked out any issues they were having. Comes with a 2 yr warranty at time of purchase.

The Brewtus originally had a digital temp controller (not an actual PID, if it matters). Obviously, the point is that these things have been around longer than the BDB, and are a proven system.
I read a comment on CG about adding a PID to a Brewtus II. But you're right, there is a history of attempts to use the E61 with PIDs and dual boilers. My impression is that they're trying to do something a bit different now with dual boilers and dual PIDs, but I could be wrong.
"I've Scaced many HX/E61 machines, seeing shot variances of up to 8-10F or more. [The BDB] stays within 1F." - Mark Prince
