well now it turns out i might have more options!  found a V2 Silvia locally for $125, picking it up tomorrow and it looks brand new.  thinking i might return the Ascaso and use that money for other things...

that is an awesome price for a Silvia, if it really is near new or even in decent condition, you should jump on it asap,  you could upgrade the wand, put on a PID and be where many after spending 5 times that price.  heck, if you don't want it, I'll get it and use it for travel.

planning on going to pick it up in about an hour!  i had the same exact thoughts.  ugrade the wand and put in PID, and have a very nice machine for about $400!

picked up the Silvia about an hour ago, its in beatiful condition.  First owner, used for about 3 years and descaled/flushed regularly...thing looks practically new!  Oh yeah, it also included a Coffee Pod Kit, not that i am going to use that, but its going up on ebay so i hope to get about $60 for that, so it really brings down the cost of this unit!

Cant wait to start pulling shots!

awesome!  congratulations!  Keep us posted on how it goes and of course, ask questions as they arise.  There are lots of Silvia and former Silvia users here (myself included).

That is a good buy. They are nice machines just not worth what they are charging new because they have not improved the machine over time... just charged more for it.
