Hi there. I am an espresso machine collector, and I recently acquired a Thermoplan Black & White from a Seattle's Best Coffee that closed with it's home Borders store. I have never worked on a superautomatic before, so I'm not familiar with how to troubleshoot it, and I'm finding a whole lotta nothing searching online.
Right now, I have it all hooked up just fine, but when I try to pull a shot using any of the buttons, it says to fill the hopper. This is very annoying, since the hoppers are locked in and full of beans. What am I doing incorrectly? Am I looking at a faulty part, even though it was working in its last location, and hasn't been particularly jostled since?

Ashlyn, welcome to CG. Truthfully, around here, we're not especially fond of SA machines. That said, one of our members is especially conversant in SA's. Hopefully, Pietro will see your post. I'm positive he'll at least be familiar with your machine. Have you contacted the manufacturer? Do you have the owner's manuel? If not, you can Google for a .pdf download. The manual probably has codes or explanations for the readout you're getting.
