TL;DR - A local store told me this stand was meant for the Rancilio Silvia and Rocky grinder. Doesn't fit. I want to know what kind of machine this stand goes with. Does anyone know? (no idea what "Linea Casa" means on the box, can't find mention of that on the web.
I own a Rancilio Silvia v2 and a Rocky. Recently, I visited a local Dallas coffee distributor that has been around for a long time. They maintain a small retail presence, and I dropped in to see the operation. One of the managers (possibly an owner) greeted me, and we started talking shop. He showed me the roasting room, and we chatted for about 20 minutes. When the conversation shifted towards my home setup, I told him about my Silvia & Rocky setup. He mentioned that their old retail store used to have several Silvias, and that he had some old stands for the Silvia & Rocky in the back if I was interested.
Long story short, he was really nice and sold me one of the stands. I was excited to bring it home and try it out. Unfortunately, when I went to put the Silvia and the Rocky on the stand, neither one of them fit. As you can see from the picture, there are little posts on the plastic stand that look like they're meant to sit into corresponding cavities on the machines, but neither the stand or the machine fit. They sit on the posts and wobble around.
I'm fairly certain whatever he sold me is either a) not intended for the Silvia / Rocky -- maybe another Rancilio machine, or b) meant for a different version of the machine I have. I've tried searching for "Linea Casa", but I can't really figure out what that's referring to.
It was clear from my conversation with the store manager that the stand is pretty old (10+ years, maybe 20). I thought I'd check here first and see if anyone recognized the stand and knew its history / purpose. I'm sure I'll take it back to the store, but I know there are a lot of coffee geeks on here that might recognize it.

Had a Silvia v1 (two in fact) for over 8 years before upgrading to my Duetto II, but have not seen that base before. I had a Rocky paired with one of them as well. They fit perfectly on the base I had...which was stainless steel with 2 drawers (one being a pull out knock box).

to add to above:
"linea casa" simply translates to "home line"...and Silvia is the only home model that Rancilio makes. On their website, they too show the stainless model base that I am familiar with. It's sort of baffling that there is a plastic one, and like you suggested, it's probably from long before I ever got into espresso.
Having said all that, if the Silvia I used to own is referred to as "v1" and the stainless base made for it fits it perfectly while also perfectly holding the Rocky grinder, then what the heck was that older model base for? I'd be interested to hear if Rancilio ever made a different home machine before the Silvia came out.
