Newly out from Chris' Coffee. Thoughts?
I'm about to pull the trigger on a Alex Duetto II from a fellow CGr. Good price, extras, we have a good history, and I dont expect my purchase decision is going to waiver.
Just curious what the thoughts are on the new model.

I just watched the video and looked through the webpage. 3.0 isn't very different from II. Most of the changes are aesthetic. Functional changes, IMO...1) reinforced front plate to decrease flex when engaging the pf handle (in the video he said "eliminates" it, but watch carefully and you'll see the 3.0 flex a tiny bit). In truth, the II doesn't have to flex. If you stop cranking the pf on before it flexes, you'll be fine (however, I do wish mine had the reinforcement); 2) larger drip tray, I guess this is a non-issue if you plumb-in...but if you don't it's a nice improvement. In the video, he said you have to move the plastic tube when you re-insert the drip tray on II...well, not on my II (which I did buy from them).
I guess the new safety feature runoff tubing between the pump and motor is a good thing? I hope to never wish my machine had it.
I find my cup warmer more than adequate, so that's a non-issue to me. A different shell design, a different drip tray cover, different light design...basically like saying it used to be orange, but now it's purple.

honestly I prefer the shell and lights of the 2 to the 3. Aside the safety run off tube that I also hope to never use, I would keep what I have to buying the 3. I do not think the changes warrent the increase in price. Where there is a 3 there will be a 4 and on it goes...
