Hi, came home last night and house had a slight burnt smell, walked over to my vibiemme and it was so hot on top, sides and all around the machine, gauges were fogged over, but that poor thing had a TON of pressure, switched it off and unplugged it, let it cool down, had water on the bottom of the machine, couldn't figure out whats wrong, pump was very hot, but it started up, hopefully it didn't damage it, the machine now rattles more when pump is running, ( yes, machine is rattling and loud) i swapped out the pressure stat and now it's working, contacted espressocare to replace it, (still waiting for a reply) just kinda checking what i can do, anybody willing to buy this once it's repaired? i'll never bond with this machine because i really never liked it, will trade for a big HX that doesn't rattle. EDIT: Machine is 4 months old.

Replace then presurestat, but also put in an SSR between the pressurestat and the heating element. Scale can inhibit the proper operation of a pressurestat as well if the pipe gets clogged or the diaphragm's movement is compromised.

i have RO water with the calcite mineral filter on the machine, pressure stat was squeaky clean but not working, i don't want to mod the machine as of now, i don't really have long term plans with it.

Ok, i calmed down, but i got a brainstorm, i cant get the drip tray and the cup holder to stop rattling no matter what i try, So i decided this would be an awesome machine with an external under the counter pump, anyone ever did this? Heating and temp stability is awesome on it, also if i throw out the water tank i could fit in a full size pressure stat, i know it would void my warranty, but i think i would love the machine then..

You could just use some rubber type of pad, thin door seal foam etc to stop the noise from the drip tray, all you need to do is prevent metal to metal contact and POOF the noise is gone.

Check the pump is actually mounted correctly - screws can come loose in shipping and with vibration, and then the vibration gets worse. Also check the routing of pipes too and from the pump, often a slight re-routing will avoid contact somewhere that's rattling.
