So it's getting cold up here in the PNW. Tonight's especially cold. I decided to make a decaf latte to relax with. Sure the beans were stale, but I figured I'd use them up before they got to be undrinkable. So I put them in my grinder, which never leaves 19.5g and I could swear it came out less than usual. I thought it might just be the beans, so I put some of my favorite Tanzanian Peaberry in because my roommate was wanting to pull an all-nighter. Same thing happened. It almost seemed like there was 10-15% less coffee than usual in the bin. I made sure the bin was empty and tared each time I ground, as I always do. Am I imagining things?

Hmm, definitely a good point. Should I up my dose weight accordingly? Say to an even 21g? That seems a big much for a double basket, though 19.5 has been perfect for a while.

Yes humidity affects the beans, my moving up the fine scale 2 bumps every day has swung wildly since the rains started here just this last week. But check your weight on another scale to rule out an issue with your grinder.
