Hi,
I recently moved house and had my machine shipped. I also tried using some odd (more moist?) coffee beans in it. Whether those two points are related, I dont know, but it seems the pressure is down. I've unblocked everything and descaled. Now I have descaled, the water runs through fine, and there is a lot of steam & hot water without the porta-filter.
However, with no coffee in the machine and with the porta filter on, almost nothing ( a few drips) come out. I've taken the filter mechanism apart and the holes are all unblocked. It's as if the spring on the pressure regulator is too stiff - Or the pump pushing the water through is too weak.
I don't understand why the pump would get weaker, and in anycase I thought the pressure was generated from boiling the water - could the water be too cold - dodgy thermostat or something? Or somehow could the pressure regulator be damaged?
Any comments as to what might be going on much appreciated!

What type of machine are we talking about make, sbdu, hx, db unit, etc? Have you tried adjusting the expansion valve if your machine has it? Also your boiler may not be completely full and you may need to fill it by pumping it for a bit when you first turn it on.

Thanks for responses. It's a delonghi EC152, pretty much same as 155 I think.
However, after lots of playing I think I have it working, although not sure what I did.
It all seemed to go wrong when I tried this new coffee - the beans looked a little more moist than usual. Anyway I poked a pin around the sprung pressure regulator, and blew through it etc. I don't think I did anything, a few near microscopic grains seemed to come out, but after that it works with water only and with coffee. It froths OK too. I wonder what I did?!

This has a pressurized portafilter correct? Is that the pressure regulator you're referring to? It could be the spring/mechanism was stuck. Glad it seems to be working. Let us know if it acts up again.
