Thank you sir. I am really enjoying the redline again. I took a break from it for 6-12 months when they stopped shipping USPS and the shipping cost went up. They also did not seem real consistent for a little while from bag-to-bag. I am glad I came back to it again though, It is almost like the comfort food of espresso to me. I find it to be smooth and forgiving. I have not experimented much with the flavor profile by adjusting the dosage, etc. I tend to just dose my usual 18g.

Guys, I just purchased this 4-pack of tips from 1st line, thinking they would work with my Vetrano.  They are not "no burn", so I don't like them.  If anyone wants them, please check the Classifieds section on this forum.

I do not believe any tips are no-burn, just wands.

help in chicago - still haven't figured out the machine

I've had the Cuadra since January and have been playing around with all the variables you guys have  talked about in the posts. I still am not getting consistent shots or microfoam with the machine. Is there anyone here who owns one and lives in Chicago who can possibly help me out with figuring out if it's me or something with the machine? I have a Baratza Preciso grinder and typically use Redline or Black Cat beans.
Thanks!

until you find some to help you live, read through the guide to better espresso (article 12 under "how-to" on www.espressomyespresso.com)  If you can't find a Cuadra owner in your area to help you, go find a really god barista in a shop nearby (Intelligentsia comes to mind), and see if they'd be willing to come over to train you for a couple of hours (offers of alcohol, food or money often work).  Alternatively, take a vacation to LA, or Seattle or somewhere else where you can attend a one day barista training course during your trip.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you. If you don't find anybody to help you out, I think the advice to take a barista course is good. I myself plan on doing the same.

I've recently switched over to using a bottomless portafilter all the time and I've discovered that I have a grind or tamping problem to solve. I think I also have a temperature problem and am contemplating adjusting the pstat.
