Subject: Rancilio Epoca 2 group for home use?

Anyone have any opinions on this?

I got the machine for $50 used and was told it was working when pulled.

Is it worth it to get 240V in my kitchen and plumb it in (would need an electrician for the electrical, I can do the plumbing)?

Is it possible to convert a 240V unit to 120V (I'm thinking no)?

Any other problems I might run into running a commercial machine at home?

Thanks.

Where are you located?
I'll trade you a nice 120 volt Gaggia for your 240V Rancilio.

Actually I just moved and finally got around to installing our commercial 2 group Rancilio.
I did the wiring and plumbing myself. Now I just need to install a simple drain through the kitchen wall out the garden.

Enjoy the machine.

Duncan, as I can see you should ONLY get an abnormal electricity bill.... but it could be a start to a new business...
It all depends how your wife feeels about you installing that 2 group monster into HER kitchen::.....
Good luck, ciao, Pietro
