Hi just wondering if it is a big deal if my portafilter needs to be turned almost all the way in to make a tight seal. The machine is less than 6 months old so I imagine that gasket isn't worn out yet. When I first got the machine the handle would sit right about center when it was tight, now it is almost all the way to the right.

It sounds like a worn PF gasket. It is normal to change them 2 or 3 times a year. If you tend to be aggressive with tightening then you will wear them out faster than if you only go tight enough to stop it from leaking.

You should remove it from the machine on a regular basis to clean the group head anyway.
