I'm not sure what it is, but lately I started to notice following:
Machine idle (ON) for number of hours - I keep it on timer 7am to 7pm
When I come in to pull a shot - I do flush until it stops steaming. I expect water gurgling and steaming coming off and nothing comes out. I can hear pump but no water comes out and later it starts to come out but no steam. PID shows proper 252-253
After water comes out - I see PID shows 250-251 which is unusual for amount of water like that to bring temperature down.
If I get some water out of hot water wand - than it seems to start working OK
My wife uses machine to get hot water out of it during day time.
