I'm looking to get a CELLINI EVO V2.. I had an order placed at Seattle coffee gear on a CELLINI EVO and I canceled it as it's not a V2 that they were going to ship.. they dont have a release date on the V2 yet..  it looks like it's on the euro sites  (baresta, etc.) but not here in the US yet.. any idea on when it may hit the USA, or I may order from europe.. This place sells ROCKET from europe and exports to USA in a 120V versions..

That's true. As far as I can tell there's official announcement from Rocket Espresso yet. Still, there are two German online distributors who already offer the RE 58 on their website for pre-order.

The cat is out of the bag, there will be a press release from Rocket next week.  Pricing and availability should be available then and pre-orders on our site as well.

Speaking to the owners of Rocket last year, they advised me that they thought DB machines were a fad.

Plus, a lot can happen in a year. Maybe they see a shift in sales to DB machines.

For prosumer machines, the E61 grouphead is sort of a signature for Rocket. Does an exposed grouphead with a thermosiphon make sense for a machine with a dedicated brew boiler? (I know the QuickMill Alexia has an E61 head; I didn't until now wonder about how that works. If the head is connected to the brew boiler, and radiates heat to the environment, isn't the head always going to be cooler than the boiler?)

For sure and there is an "offset" that can and should be programed into the PID to accommodate for the differential. Recently in another thread it was suggested that environmental variables would change that offset substantially. The other position was that differential would stay pretty much the same but in a much cooler environment the brew boiler would spend more time heating to compensate for the environment. I did test this very thing early this morning by throwing open the windows in the room were my DB machine sits for a couple of hours then closing them again. I let the ambient temp in the room come up to 45 and then ran 4 test with a scale device. I have not had time to crunch the numbers yet but I will post them in a separate thread when i am done.

Just for the record i was being funny with the "fad" remark not trying to start and old an worn out debate.
