As I frequently will, I picked up a 12 dollar Breville espresso machine the other day that had a missing steam wand assembly and no potafilter. I quickly went home and found that everything appeared to work correctly absent the missing parts. I then went to ebay and ordered a parts only machine for 40 dollars to have the spare part that I might need. To my amazement the machine from ebay came to me in perfect condition and everything worked perfectly, except it also did not have a potafilter.
I have searched ebay a couple of time trying to find a used potafilter for this machine but no luck so far. I can order the replacement parts from Breville for over 100 dollars, but then I have more in the machine that I was wanting to spend.
Do any of you know of used sources for this kind of thing? I would also love some comments on how good of an expresso machine this model of Breville might be. I am a long time baby Gaggia user but got sucked into this adventure because of an initial cheap thrift store find.
