Do not, I repeat, DO NOT follow what I've done since I don't want any liability. I use CLR to remove scale from my Calypso brand teakettle every other month or so. Once descaled and thoroughly rinsed, I use the item and it harbours neither an aftertaste nor an odor. But, folks, we're talking apples and oranges here now aren't we.
