Hello everyone. Love the site, I have learnt lots about the intricacies of the Coffee Bean.  My situation is that we

have bought a store in which we would like great Coffee to be a cornerstone of our offerings. The previous

owners did not focus on a good cuppa and hence there is alot of room for improvement. I suspect that our staff

will not be as inspired to create a good beverage as I am so i am leaning towards getting a swift with the

flexibility of also having two hoppers. The other choice is a Mazzer Robur electric. I would like to know what

peoples opinions are on the Swift specifically as a versatile tool for minimizing staff complacency or lack of time

and training/ retention due to seasonality. Also are the swifts only able to be used with LM's or are the group

heads interchangable with most machines(not even sure what size they are?) Is there a list for ones that

donot need modification?

We are looking at getting a two group semi-auto machine but dont have the money to spend more than 10 k on it as we

have major reno's comming up soon. Anyone know if you can get a temp/pressure profile capable machine for

approx. 10k? Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions especially as this is my first post ;)

We are under some time pressure with regards to moving quickly on upgrading the substandard machine and

grinder. I am new to Coffee but inspirered. Love the podcasts too.

Regards from Australia.

Which vendors are available in Australia? Since you are looking for a commercial unit it will be nice to have local technical support when you have parts that need fixing. A Robur electric is a great choice because that's the top of the line. Have you found a source for good beans? Top knotch equipment is useless without quality beans.  I would recommend some training classes so that you can at least pretend to know what you are doing on day 1. I'm not sure about Australia but I would look for used equipment. Here in the US we have shops closing all the time and plenty of used machines and grinders for sale. This will save you lots of money and you can always upgrade later when you have more time and know exactly what you want.
