OK So I viewed the OPV adjustment video and being a mere physician, I decided to undertake this easy 15 minute job. A couple of things. Do not drop the nylon locking sleeve into the machine innards.
Being a simple CPA, computer tech and software salesman, I'll just write the check. But one trick I have learned, when possible, wrap fingers with two sided tape.
I had the same problem. Impossible to hold onto the sleeve while you are unscrewing. However, if you ever had to send it back, I don't think it would be too hard to find a replacement sleeve.
Can anyone tell me what the recommended pressure is? With a blind basket, I get 11, and my shots are usually just above the top end of the recommended pressure range. I thought about adjusting it, but I don't know if it would make a difference. I've heard pressure isn't a significant factor in the shot quality, as long as it is high enough.

I always adjust my grind to get 9 bar of pressure during extraction (18 g charge, with the tamp @ 30 lbs). The OPV is set to limit maximum (or overpressure) to a value of about 10.5 - 11.0.
So, anything above 10.0 with the blind should be good.
Cheers,
Dave
Don't forget to stop and smell the coffee...... er flowers!
I'm thinking about changing my recently purchased Rocket Giotto for a BDB. The Giotto is nice to look at but my partner finds it too complicated to operate, and it's a PITA to keep clean.
Unfortunately living in the UK, there is no supplier of the BDB, so I would have to order from Germany who sell the Gastroback - same machine, rebadged.
One question for owners at this stage - what is the clearance between the drip tray and the PF spouts? Can I get a mug under to make Americanos?
