I cleaned the group head on my SL70 this morning and the depressed part of the filter which holds the screw is hanging on by a mere bit of metal, i.e. I need a replacement group head filter. It seems that no one sells the Solis in the US anymore and I can't find a source for this simple part. (The well known company in Seattle that sold me the machine now acts as if they have never heard of it) Any suggestions for replacing the filter? Thanks.

I think you're right - dispersion screen. Although I think my manual called it a filter, but hey translation and all. I effected a repair with a small washer, that fortunately was thin enough for the screw to seat well in the threaded hole (I feared trying to find an unknown metric screw about 3/8 inch long, stainless, smaller than us gauge 6-32) I will try empire, but it is interesting that they do not publicize their relationship with Solis on the web and Solis itself has no listing for either the SL70 or the SL90 except on their German website. Pretty shoddy public relations. I hope the coffeegeek's enthusiastic review has an addendum that reflects this as the current situation. As for those folks in Seattle from whom I bought the machine, ... I am going elsewhere in the future.

As for Empire, they most likely are a parts warehouse that handles repair parts for numerous companies that are similarly not advertised. I don't think that's unusual. Basically a drop-ship kind of warehousing arrangement.
Regarding the SL-70 or SL-90, they were discontinued in the USA a long time ago, so it is likewise not strange to me that it is not part of their current US website.

Fortunately for you the boilers and groups for these machines were manufactured by Saeco, so parts from e.g. the Starbucks Barista machines should work. If your electronics break, though, you're out of luck.
