So with decent barista skills sounds like it would take you about four and a half to five minutes to steam your milk and pull two doubles for two 12oz lattes. Not too shabby for this class machine. And bottom line you could do four 12oz lattes in just twice the time and if doing cappucino's make that more like five minutes for four of 'em all with double shots. Or maybe not quite. Would have to test back to back shot recovery time... I'm kinda spoiled with my Bric's 35sec recovery shot to shot including flash for flush-n-go.
I can steam milk for my wife's 12oz latte in 40-45 seconds.
Here are my steps to making a latte with my Silvano.
- Load / tamp the PF. - Fill my pitcher and start steaming. - Stop steaming milk - Load the PF into the group head and start pulling my shot. - Swirl the milk, yada yada.... - When the shot is done, I pour the shot, then the milk in the pre warmed cup. - Done with the latte. - Knock out the puck - Rinse the PF - Load the PF and draw water through it.
Ready to go again.
Rinse, repeat.
I never seem to be waiting on the machine, for anything. Sure it could steam Milk quicker, but 40-45 seconds is not too bad.
Awesome thread. Lot's of great information. if anyone gets this, I know it's old, I am curiouse to hear updated comments regarding the functioning of the Sylvano now that people have had them for a while.
thanks for the welcome !! but it looks like the reply's aren't happening. i'm leaning more towards an HX machine now unless this Breville dual boiler starts to look interesting.

I just updated my review click here for follow-up. In essence, I am still very happy with the purchase.
Here are a re few features that are absent, that would be nice to have: - Some kind of pre-infusion, probably just an e61 grouphead. - A better steam wand. The one supplied is a single hole wand. A double hole wand, given the power of Silvano's TB, would make things easier. - Hot water. - OPV return: Excess water returns to the resevoir. Would much prefer it to route to the drip tray.
But overall the big stuff is there and the machine has performed as advertised and then some. Makes great shots, steams well. Looks great.
