Just got my new Fracino Cherub machine today, and for the first time ever i have been able to get a perfect crema (IMHO) that is more than 1/2mm deep.
I used 2x 1 shot glasses that took about 5 seconds to start, and ended on about 25 seconds. It looked like 2 small glasses of Guiness beer with the crema rising slowly.

I upgraded from a Gaggia Classic to this machine, and i was always dissapointed with the inconsistancy with the Gaggia and lack of full crema.

Looks like a great machine, love the black and chrome look.. and the steaming wand position is far enough from the machine, looks like it would be very comfortable to use.  Have fun!  BTW what coffee are you using?

I am using Whittards (UK) coffee at the moment, as thats what i had in the house.
Its a very strong dark coffee.

The steam wand is adjustable which is ideal. On my Gaggia it was fixed, and if i steamed enough milk for 2 cups it would spill when trying to manouver it away from the wand.
It also produces hot water in a decent quantity (due to the 2.3L boiler), which is ideal for the wife who likes her pint of tea in the morning.

Super looking setup, I've been looking at the same machine for a number of months now and am very close to getting my Credit Card out.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the Fracino, as although you've not had it too long it'd be good to know what you think.

To date I've only spoken to one other person (over on TMC) with the Cherub and they appear to be happy, any information or thoughts on the machine appreciated.

Well with all due respect,my grandfather was from Durham up north and my wife writes historical novels of the regency period...I have to ask after owning
and MGB Roadster way back when, and all my friends Triumphs and Nortons back in the day....Does it leak oil???? Ha ha ha...seriously I was just trying to break the ice, I mean does it have the build quality of an Italian machine.Whats its cost in American currency? On Gaggia...I cant say enough about the consistent quality of this little machine, mines been great but I sense someday Ill move up too.

Hey, i restored a Triumph Spitfire and it didnt leak any oil. The soft-top leaked water like a sieve though.

Lol, you used the words 'quality' and 'Italian' in the same sentance (this is rarely done). Have you ever owned an Italian car or motorbike? Quality takes second place over style.

The build quality is great, but to be honest only time will tell as its still brand new. Its about $900 usd.
I would have no problems recommending one as an upgrade to a Gaggia machine. I too had no problems with my Gaggia and would recommend one too, to light users.
Its like buying a CRT monitor or an LCD monitor. Both will show the picture fine, both a great quality, but one is more desirable and looks better than the other, and is better for people wanting that little bit extra.
