Subject: Faema Amica 2 - Does Not Draw Water

Have acquired a Faema Amica 2, but we cannot seem to make the machine draw water from the reservoir through the plastic tubes.  This model has a lever on the left-hand side of the machine rather than a knob below the buttons, so I am not certain I am posting in the right section, but I thought I would try here first.  Does anyone happen to know how to make it start drawing water?  It does heat up (in fact, I think it's ready to expode).
