Does anyone know who may make a triple basket that will fit on the Lelit PL041 57mm portafilter. I usually overdose and grind about 16-17 grams at a time. I settle the grinds down in the basket a few times while grinding (not tamping) so it will all fit. Of course this leaves very little or no headroom at the top for expansion even when I tamp at 40#. I even notice that sometimes after extraction I can see the imprint of the screen nut in the puck. I wonder sometimes if I can break a puck during the expansion.
A triple basket would solve these issues and frankly make it easier and less messy for my doserless grinder. I know I can have Espressoparts cut an extra portafilter down or my own machine shop can for me.
If anyone knows whose 57mm would fit. I would appreciate the help.

Try chriscoffe.com. The sell bottomless portafilters and have a guy that does some beautiful work They might be able to take an existing portafilter that you know fits, and retool it and add a deeper basket.
I purchased a bottomless for my Silvia that has a nice deep basket, handy when grinding on Rocky, that sends out a clumpy grind. It holds 17 grams no problem. Best part was, this customized portafilter was the same price as an off the shelf version.

As it is, IDK of any 57mm triple baskets.
However... If you know someone who has a machine with a 58mm group.. see if a double basket will fit in your portafilter. If it does, then you can buy a 58mm triple basket. A likely candidtate, IF a 58mm basket fits, would be the 18gr Synesso basket. ITs a ridgeless basket, and its size is kind of inbetween a double and a triple. I call it my big double basket. Fits 22grs, 23 if you jam em in there.
Reason I suggest this, is because people who own Vivaldi's and want a triple basket buy the Dalla Corte triple basket and widen the bottom part of the Bottomless portafilter, and it fits like a glove. The Vivaldi is a 53mm group, and the Dalla Corte is a 54mm group. MAYBE a 58mm basket will work in your Lelit.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but since I too have been looking for a triple basket that could fit my Le'Lit, I've ordered the basket mentioned above to see if it'll fit. I figure for under $10 it's an acceptable risk. I will report back if it fits or not.
