I'm very surprised you get accurate results with the gauge you have shown.
I found that I had to go to a liquid filled gauge to get accurate readings.
The non-liquid filled one bounced the needle around so badly that I couldn't really read the pressure correctly.
A liquid filled gauge solved that problem nicely, but they are definitely more expensive.

Also I would recommend adding teflon tape at each junction.

You are absolutely right....no bouncing needle.
Makes no sense to me, but I see that it is so...

Is there any issue given that it is an air pressure gauge?  No problem with the hot water?

in my hands-on experience with few of this cheap air gauges they work ok with hot water.
this one I put together today was pretty beat up, use it for few different things, and still gave me an accurate ridding.
As you can see there, no much to go wrong on an air gauge..;)

Thanks for the parts list - I'm going to make one of these.  I need a good inexpensive solution like this to check the brew pressure of my machines.
