Subject: How to descale a La Marzocco Linea steam boiler?

I rebuilt my La Marzocco Lina 3 group a few years back. This rebuild was a complete tear down and rebuild. When I did this I soaked my brew boiler and steam boiler in a heated citric acid bath. It is time to descale again and I do not want to remove the steam boiler from the machine again if I do not have to. I was thinking that I could remove the fill tube from the top of the machine and put in some citric acid, then return the fill tube and run the boiler for a while to heat it up, but not long enough to create steam. Once the solution sat for a while I would drain and flush it by opening up the drain tube in the sight glass and run the fill function for a while.

Does this sound correct or am I crazy?

Any ideas about how to descale the brew boiler would also be helpful.

TIA,
Tim Blue

P.S. of anyone in the U.S. (my ISP blocks non U.S. traffic :-/ )wants to see the original rebuild insanity you can look here: http://www.timothyblue.com/linea.php

heated citric acid works well as you know, but you would be smart to boil it into solution on the stove first and pour the saturated solution into the machine and heat it up.  The citric acid dissolves poorly in cold water and will clump on the bottom making it hard to clean back out if you use it by puring it in a dry form.
