I'm not impressed. Brian is right, this is not exactly an "upgrade."
You don't mention what kind of grinder you're using, but having a good grinder will improve your espresso a lot more than replacing your Gaggia will. If I still had my Gaggia, I'd look seriously into saving my money for an HX machine, rather than getting this machine . . . then again, that's exactly what I did! ;^)

Thanks for the advice, everyone!
Actually, my Carezza has serious issues. I need to replace it but I realize with my budget it may not be an improvement. I am thinking I will go for a lower end replacement (same class) but get a Rancilio Rocky grinder, since this seems like the best reviewed in the $400 range. I have been using pre-ground Illy (I know, I know!) but realize that I should be grinding. I also have read enough times that I probably should not bother with a Saeco Titan or Capresso Infinity burr grinders, both in the $100 range.
It's been brought to my attention, with proof, that "ToroBrasil" who has been responding to this and some other threads on CoffeeGeek where he talks up the Espressione line is actually involved with Espressione.
