Subject: Expobar Office Machines

I am considering getting an Expobar Pulser or Control but just wanted to get a feel from people who have owned/used them.  Good experience?  Bad?  I have read such conflicting things!  They really seem like a good value, and are the only HX machines under $1000 that I have found.  They seem to be in a class of their own, as comparable seeming machines are all priced well into the 1Ks....

One question in particular that I have, though:  How loud are they?  I have read some reports that they are very loud...wake the dead loud.  I have a Silvia and Rocky and between the two of them I'd say things get loud, but "wake the dead loud"?  I can handle loud, but not LOUD, if you know what I mean!  I have young children who nap and I like to keep them napping so I can enjoy my espresso!  Expobar owners, how loud is LOUD?

thanks in advance!

I just bought an Office Control and pulled some shots today, and it didn't seem any louder than my Gaggia because it has the same type of vibe pump.  The grinders are louder from what I experienced.  Can't review it much since I just bought it, but so far it's making tasty shots.

I have using an Expobar Pulser for the past 4 1/2 years. No problems with it at all. I am very staisfied with the results. I usually make 3 or 4 straight shots of espresso a day  and an occasional macchiato. The team wand performs very well. Can't comment on the noise because I have nothing to compare ti to but I don't find it excessive. Besides it only takes 25 - 30 seconds to pull a shot so it is no problem.

My wife likes the hot water spigot for her hot tea.

If and when I need a new machine I will certainly consider the Expobar again.

Working great for me, beautiful shots every time (now that I have the whole setup dialed in).  It is loud - a tiny bit louder than my old gaggia, but livable.

They are no louder than other vib pump machines - which are most home machines. One "issue" with the Expobar may be that its constuction allows the pump to make a tad more noise - but you could simply insulate the pump area (though I owuldn't bother).

I have had my Expobar Ofice Control since December 2004 and have really come to apprciate it. Sure, there are better machines, but none that could be had new for <$1k.
