Subject: Muddy in Manhattan- Upgrade, Service

Hey all,

First post on here, devotee of espresso since the beginning of this century and not too proud to say that I need your help.

I have a Silvia and Rocky that I plan to sell and wanted to take them in for service for a clean bill of health.  I took it to Rudy's Espresso a couple of years ago but recently heard that there is a place in Chelsea that services machines.  Does anyone know of this place?

Also, after I part with my beloved Silvia/Rocky, I am considering an upgrade- I typically pull about three doubles a day for myself and a few milk drinks on the weekend for my newly minted wife.  I am guessing that I would do the occasional milk drink for myself but I'm lazy and impatient with Silvia.

To this point, I have considered one of the Quick Mills- Andreja or Vetrano- I like the form factor and could do with an HX machine but I'm not tied to an agenda.  I am happy to spend less money or the same on something else if there is better performance.  I could plumb it directly into the water line but not a needed feature; am ambivalent on this.

I would pair the machine with likely one of the Macap grinders.

Lastly, I've heard good things about Chris' coffee but Hi-tech Espresso offers the same machines with the PID mod for roughly the same money.

To consolidate:

1) Does anyone know of the place in Chelsea that services machines or anyone else besides Rudy's? (Nothing against them by the way.)
2) Considering one of the Quick Mills- any thoughts on these versus competitors?
3) How about Hi-Tech with the PID mods versus Chris' Coffee?

Thank you in advance for your help/thoughts,

Dino
