The last 2 days when extracting my espresso I find the puck of grinds stick in the grouphead and do not stay in the portafilter. things get a bit messy and the shots pouring out seem to be thin and ,weak and since I do a double, one cup has less in it than the other at the end of the extraction.
I've had the machine about 3 weeks, have made about 4 espresso /week and follow Marks you tube clip on working & cleaning up after a shot.
what may be the problem.

Thanks all,

Wayne

Hi Wayne,

That happened once or twice in the years that I had Silvia. I believe it was a case of the wrong grind or not enough of a tamp. I'm sure there's someone on the board that will be more help.

I'm pretty much a beginner but in my short experience, if you have the puck sticking to the screen you are using a little too much coffee.  Also, in the past when I used too much coffee I would just get drips, or maybe I'd get a full shot eventually if I waited long enough.  Since you didn't mention having that problem, I'm guessing you are also grinding coarser than you probably want.

As I'm sure you know, there are a lot of experts around here so someone will probably have a different/better idea for you.
