Subject: Rancilio Silvia and water not heating

I have recently purchased this machine and have been using it successfully. In between making coffeee I have left the main power swtich on. The machine is an European model for use in England.

Now while all the lights light up when pressed (and the main power switch lights when turned on), and water will pour when the coffee delivery switch is pressed or the hot water delivery switch is pressed, the water is not heating. (There is plenty of water in the water tank.)

Has a switch be enaged, or has the thermostat stopped working? Is there a reset button available? If there is a button for this I cannot see it. Please assume that I am a complete beginner as to the insides of a coffeee machine...

Help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Victor Warner.

Hi Victor,

Welcome to the Coffeegeek forums! {:-)
Yes there is a 165C saftey thermostat on the side of the boiler. Push in the little red button on the top of it & you should be good to go!
I'll post a pic of it in a minute.
