I just became a new mommy to a lovely San Marco 1999 2 grp.Automatic 85-16M2.

I'm so excited I actually did scream.  I got it for a steal...we'll see how good a steal when I actually pick it up.  Even if I had to re-do damn near everything in it, it would *still* be a steal (yes - I got it that cheap!!).

All of the sudden my future coffee dreams are becoming a reality!!!  I'm freaking out!

Congrats Roxie!!!

So, when will I be able to go down and visit your stand?

BTW, if you haven't already done so, you should visit the boys and girls at Hines. Not only could they be your source for coffee, but you'll get invaluable advice and help from not one, not two, but at least THREE long time cart owner / operators.

YAY!!!
Now for those grinders....

When you get everything up and running let us know. I'll be quite excited to make the trip down there to visit your place.

(and when you do open, expect to be meeting many a geeker, I can't even begin to count how many we've met since opening.)

I will check them out.  The holidays will be nuts because I manage the Carousel in downtown Seattle - but after that - I'm going full force.  I'd love to test them out!

ACTUALLY - I'm under contract to work at my place til the end of January.  I fear they will hear wind of my coffee plans and get rid of me before then (so they don't have to pay the $5K fee - I do!) - so I have to keep it on the down low until after my contract is up! :-) Then I'm a full-scale employee and can quit!

The price of this machine was SO CHEAP - that it shaved about 3 mandatory months off my "save before I start" time.  I was looking at summer, now I'm thinking late spring! :-D  I'm getting so excited but scared!!  I still need to secure my spot!

AUGH!  Grinders!  Actually, I'm more worried about a cart - that's the next major purchase.   I'll just be patient and wait for my good deal to show up...she's out there!! :-)

Check Ebay, commercial grinders that don't fit under countertops sometimes go cheap; especially if you search "coffee grinder"rather than "espresso grinder" Currently there's two Cunills ("one set for decaf") going for around $150. The pictures are sideways. They're being sold by an icecream shop.

Another place to crawl around is on south 1st street down near the kingdome. Teri and I found many a good deal in those used restaurant supply shops, also keeping an eye on the local classifieds restaurant equipt for sale section will help a good deal.

Thanks - today I got a full cart with fridge and sink for $1600 including shipping!  I'm going to rip off the awning on it - but it's cool!!  :-D  Now I'm broke again and have to save to buy anything else!

I don't know much about cart prices, but $1600 sounds pretty damn good. Heck, fridges alone can run in that range.
If you need/want any more advice give me or anyone else here a buzz...
