The sizing came up recently on the roaster's list for a custom made Thor tamper. Turns out the tamper has to be just under 53mm to fit comfortably.
I have the 58mm version; it's a terrific tamper. The rounded bottom builds up the edge; so the slightly smaller diameter won't affect it's performance.

I just thought the discrepancy a little strange is all.
Like I said, I'll probably still bid on the thing, just because it's about the most inexpensive "good" tamper that will come close to fitting in my PF.

I am not the one who suggested you were doing false advertising.
Attitude? You see, I could simply just sell items and be a vendor who cares less about the products or customers or I can participate in an industry that I'm very passionate about, and maybe it's that passion that gets in the way sometimes.
I did not fault your passion for you business. In fact, I've purchased several things from you in the past. You provide several great products & I enjoy using them daily. Your customer interaction (in my experience, at least) could use some improvement.
A forever type posting of this type is entirely un called for.
Yes, on second thought, I probably should have not said anything. But, I didn't say anything nasty or inappropriate. I did not steer the original poster away from your auction or company to a competitor. I simply made a statement that is based upon my experience in the past with you. (I even purchased more items from you AFTER that...just made sure to walk on eggshells.) Perhaps as a business owner, you should not take it personally and instead take it as constructive critiquing.
Quod erat demonstrandum.
I suppose it would be inappropriate of me to giggle at this time.
