Every purchase thus far has enhanced my experience with espresso.... The mad scientist suffers from upgrade fever once again.... I want to move from just a beginner into the senor senior territority before I spend the money for the E61 machine upgrade. I read a few posts on the portafilter upgrade for a triple basket on the Silvia and thought it was a good idea..... I saw some nice pictures in an earlier post which really peaked my interest so I thought I would bring up the topic again....http://www.coffeegeek.com/forums/espresso/machines/13248?Page=1

Dom
FWIW I just upgrded Silvia with a LM double basket and Commercial PF from 1st Line. The change in the Espresso is subtle but noticable. It could all be in my head but my senses tell me that the espresso tastes better. Go figure

Dom, I ordered that setup from TerryZ, and have found the triple basket to be very finicky.
However, I've matched the LaMarzocco "style" PF with the LM "style" ridgeless basket, and am getting excellent, consistent results. A very noticeable difference from the stock Rancilio setup.
