Does anyone know where I can get custom copper lines made with fittings that will work in Italian espresso machines? I believe most are metric. For example; I want to replace the teflon line from the vibe pump to the boiler in my Silvia with a copper line.
I was wondering the same thing, only for the purpose of cutting existing copper lines, insterting a vacuum relief valve and refitting the ends to attach - or fabricating a whole new line with the valve...
I don't have a problem with vibe pump noise as I use a Procon rotary pump. I am using the original teflon line and want a copper line so I can connect a Tee and a gauge if I can find someone who can make custom lines.
you can more cheaply, quickly, and easily just use available piping and standard fittings adapters (ie, a coupler thats metric on one side and english on the other -- they're cheap and readily available)
Using a line made to fit the existing fittings makes for a cleaner installation. Using adapters results in more connections and the more connections you have the greater the chance of leaking.
You say adapaters are readily available. The only limited supplier I found is McMaster-Carr. Sometimes you have to use a couple of adpaters to get the final fitting you want which results in what I said above.
RB: be aware of the possible downside of more metal fittings: galvanic corrosion. This is something we run into a lot on our R&D plants that mix english and metric fittings with various tubing materials.

I agree with keeping the Teflon lines, adding a ridged line only complicates things with noise and vibration not to mention fatigue on the lines and joints and the possible leak problems that go along with these issues.
