Subject: Silvia pump-boiler tubing replacement

I have an older Silvia with the teflon tubing. Over the years, the tubing had rubbed along an edge of sheet metal and sprung a leak. So, I order the replacement part V.448

The trouble is, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the new tube onto the old fittings. The inner diameter of the tubing seems entirely too small to fit over the male end.

Is there a trick to this I'm missing?

I've spend the last hour or so searching this site (and others) but come up with nothing. Can anyone offer some guidance here?

Thanks!

Thank you CraigA!

The heat+screwdriver tip to flare the end of the tube, coupled with the sandpaper to grip tip, made the job quite easy.

Now, to work on my search-fu skills...
