Got a replacement Giemme box from jpboyt and the machine did started. However no water went to the boiler and after pressing the brew button, machine turned off again.
I replaced the heating element today along with the thermal switch hoping this was going to solve all my problems. Unfortunately Im still where I started. Green lights goes on and few seconds later the relay clicks and machines turns off.
I have followed the wire schematics to make sure everything else where its supposed to and the schematics didnt quite look like the inside of the machine so I follow through and wire everything as the schematics looks and still nothing.
Feeling a bit frustrated now. Worked on it for 6 hours non stop today. Really would like to see it working.
The boiler and pipes are nice & clean so is the group head. Have replaced the gasket. New heating element. New thermal switch. Fixed controller box.
Apparently I had the wiring to the pump wrong and this caused a trace within the controller to burn. I figured this by opening the controller and checking for continuity on each terminal and found the pump terminal had no continuity.
I took the controller to a local shop that fixes speakers and amps and asked them if they could repair the broken trace within the circuit board. In 20min I had a working controller again and for only $20 :)
Went home and really took my time to wire each and every cable properly and finally got the machine started.
There was a lot of steam coming out of the safety valve so I took it apart and cleaned a bunch of build up. Put it back and no more hissing :)
Machines cycles, steam comes out of steam wand, hot water comes out of water wand and brew group.
The flow rate at the brew group without a PF is very low, like 1oz in 30 seconds. I suspect I have to adjust the white screw from the OPV bypass? If so how tight or loose should it be? Is there anything else that influences the flow rate?
