Subject: Ascaso Dream Steam Wand

Hi All,

My husband recently bought me an Ascaso Dream coffee machine... I'm new to home coffee machines.
I tried using both the steam tips (panarello and 3-hole) that came with the machine but was not able to produce a nice microfoam. When I removed the tip completely and left the steam wand as is (probably a big no-no since the rubber gaskets that hold the panarello are now exposed) I was able to make a really nice microfoam.

My questions are:
  1. Is it ok to leave the steam wand as is with the gaskets exposed?
  2. Is there any way to convert the wand to a traditional wand (without the rubber gaskets etc.)?

Thank you all!!
