I found a picture of a Cuadra with an external water tank next to it with some tubes running to it. Does anyone know how this works or have a link to a how to? I have a waterline running from my home filtration system to my refrigerator I can splice into
quick summary: 2.5 gallon jub from target I got a 1/4" to 1/4" barb connector from Acehardware I got a silicon tube from espresso parts 9mm x 6mm (i believe it was for a rancillo)
I absolutely love it, well worth the extra counter space and $25 in cost. In the future I plan to reroute the small tube coming from the opv to give me more length so I can have it discharge into the external water reservoir.
The biggest reason why that might not work is because the water from your fridge is under pressure. I don't know if your machine can accept a pressurized line, but it could ruin your pump. In grant862's install, he basically made an external water tank. That worked fine because it wasn't pressurized. I don't know if he did it that way because he had to, or just because it was convenient for him.
If your machine can't handle a pressurized line, then you still can plumb it in. You would just need to install a float valve to turn on/off the spigot whenever the water level dropped. Just like in your toilet, whenever it detects a low water level, it fills until it is full. I've seen a few people around here do that.

My machine is reservoir only, not plumbable. I thought about the auto refill in the reservoir with a float valve, but just moving the reservoir outside of the machine was much easier for me to do. I have the counter space and it took all of 10 minutes to connect once I had the jug, connector, and extra silicone tube.
